Michael Sincic. Legally Blind. Creator Of Art. Inspiration To All.

Michael began his love for art in junior high, high school, and college. His passion for art came to an abrupt halt when he was diagnosed with a brain tumor in 1995. Prior to the brain tumor, he was sketching and drawing cartoons. Thanks to his parents and an incredible neurosurgeon in New York, his life was spared, and he is able to continue his love of art with painting and sculpture. Now legally blind, he has learned to “feel” with his hands.

Michael Sincic is truly an inspiring person. To meet him and hear his story of triumphing over adversity is uplifting. Michael has touched the heart of everyone who has had the pleasure of hearing his story, and seen the amazing watercolor art he creates.

How Does He Paint If He Is Blind?

Great question! Michael uses a few techniques but mainly relies on touch to determine placement of objects.

How Does He Get The Colors Right On The Paintings?

Michael is extremely organized and has a system of organizing his colors and brushes. He then incorporates those colors based on the object or objects that he is painting. If he is unclear of the color that should be painted, he will often ask a friend to describe the object and color.

Michael began his company, Michael’s Unique Vision in the fall of 2000. One of his original artworks was commissioned by Steve Yzerman, the then captain of the Detroit Red Wings. Some of the Galleries that carry his art are Chateau Chantal, Park Place Hotel gift shop, Elements Gallery, Birds Unlimited and many other local galleries.
